Bibliothèque were invited by Japanese agency, Studio Kanna to produce a poster for the exhibition, 'How very Tokyo'. The brief was to generate a visual interpretation of Tokyo from the perspective of a designer. Read more
On the occassions we have been to Tokyo we have always returned with an abundance of design books. Even though there is a cultural barrier, these beautiful books have had an enduring influence on our work. The poster for 'How Very Tokyo' is a celebration of Japanese design and typography using the spines of these books. The vertical alignment of typography recalls the overwhelming density and scale of the city.
