A two-day conference organized by the Design Council, Intersections explored the expansion of design into new terrain and how boundaries between disciplines are breaking down. Read more


Held at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead, the event featured an array of groundbreaking designers, writers and thinkers with speakers including Peter Saville, Richard Seymour and Tim Brown. The Design Council partnered alongside product strategy consultants, Plan, commissioned Bibliothèque to create an identity for the event.

The brief required posters, animations, invitations, signage and advertising. The design concept used line and colour to ‘remix’ the Christian names and surnames of the speakers involved. The end result is a network of hybrid designers supporting the event’s exploration of overlapping disciplines. The graphic device of the interconnecting lines became a secondary visual language used within the conference. A huge success, InterSections witnessed some lively and inspiring debates.
